The goal of every organization is potential growth in every section based on how long it has been in existence. As technology has advanced the knowledge of criminals, law enforcement must also advance and be a mile ahead of every criminal organization to continue to keep the safety of the nation properly. The perfection of law enforcement depends on the inventing of crime detecting mechanisms to prevent all sorts of threats and criminal activities that might arise in the long team. The future technology such as data-based policing foster easy predicting of crime can be considered as a future for law enforcement to prevent crime in most populated cities where surveillance and patrol cars will have less effort in crime deterrence (Greengard, 2012). The predictive policing might seem like a very great tool. However, once a criminal has made known about the technology, another technology can also be inverted to notify criminals of the presence of law enforcement officers at the crime scene. Research on the technology that will be employed by law enforcement for crime prevent must be out of knowledge of citizens. The goal of the use of high technology is to make the police to be proactive and to enable them to do their work better (Greengard, 2012). What must be beard in mind is that anything that involves the use of the internet can be subject to hacking, and criminals can take advantage of it.
As the population increase over the years, law enforcement must employ much use of drone Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in preventing crime. This aircraft should not be used just in the case of surveillance, but to be equipped to use as a social mechanism to follow a criminal when hidden in the room or under the ground. These will make the work of the law enforcement easy to take the criminal out of the street and in the community (Yakabe, 2015). The UAS has been in used for a while now to support homeland security in detecting and preventing crime. However, unless this equipment is updated and empowered with more features, it will not be of use anymore in the next ten years.
In the next five years, there will be a tremendous cultural shift in law enforcement due to numerous terrorist threats that will face the homeland security and law enforcement (Mayer & Erickson, 2011). The minor crime will not be the focus of policing anymore or list attention will be given to minor crimes. The policing will focus on terrorist threats and homegrown terrorism, especially lone-wolf terrorists. This Sunday, two officers were killed on duty in Hawaii due to an individual carrying out crimes that people were associating it to mental illness. In the next ten years, when the humanoids have taken jobs from citizens, crime, and dubious means of surviving will cause an increase in criminality. The law enforcement in ten years will have to adopt new means of crime and terrorist preventing by active collaboration among the intelligence agencies, including the private sectors, to able to successfully prevent crime (Mayer & Erickson, 2011). The community policing must not be rooted out in the United States policing because in the next ten years the public will be of more help to fight against ongoing threats.
