Discussion: The Significance of Your Proposed Research
The significance of your study is that your research will be original work which provides an answer to a research problem and contributes to solving a social problem.
To Prepare:
- Review the Significance section of the Student Guide to Alignment.
- Review the Significance section of the sample prospectuses.
- Review your problem statement, purpose, research question(s), and Framework sections to assure alignment with the Significance.
By Day 3 of Week 7
- State the Significance of your research.
- Describe how the Significance is aligned with the problem statement, purpose, research question(s) and Theoretical Framework sections.
- Provide one example of a “grandiose positive social change claim†that you would not want to make in your Significance section.
