What are examples of infinitive verbs?
to read, to destroy, to watch, etc.
Infinitive are verbs which haven’t been changed or conjugated for tense, mood, person and so on. They are known as the ‘dictionary forms’ of the verb, because they are what show up in the dictionary, e.g. to run instead of runs.
In English, infinitives begin with to…, such as
to be
to have
to own
to steal
to speak
to see
to understand
