You will prepare and submit a term paper on Sugar Makes Children Hyperactive. Your paper should be a minimum of 1250 words in length. In the years that followed other researchers, like Prinz and colleagues established a relationship between sugar intake and behavior among normal and hyperactive young children (as cited by Health Module, 1994). In their research, their respondent children were asked to eat an equal amount of food containing sugar. The study was able to exhibit that the children with ADHD manifested restless, destructive and aggressive behavior after consuming sugar-containing foods (Health Module, 1994). In contrast, normal children did not show any restless or aggressive behavior after taking the same food (Health Module, 1994). Prinz and colleagues carefully did their work in providing their suggestive evidence on the role of sugar intake in the incidence of ADHD and the data were translated to the media representing a causal link between sugar intake and hyperactivity in normal and ADHD children (Health Module, 1994).
After the above study, scientists conducted a lot of research in order to establish the relationship between hyperactivity and sugar intake. However, they could not find any scientific relationship between sugar and hyperactivity. Moreover, scientists are also speculative of the fact that a number of normal children, as well as children with ADHD, have difficulty. But scientific links and explanations to this behavior have yet to be established. . Logic dictates that until and unless full and scientific proof is established in relation to hyperactivity and sugar intake, judgment needs to be suspended on this subject matter. .
